I wasn't expecting my first thread on here to be about my little aquarium, but here I am! So I'm having some troubles with getting plants to thrive in my 10 gallon tank. It currently has one male betta and one nerite snail. All parameters have been checked (and are checked regularly), and they're normal, but the plants I currently have simply are not thriving. The tank itself was given to me by a friend with lights included, and they appear to be simple little LEDs. Nothing particularly powerful. Could that be the culprit? The plants themselves are wisteria (which is what is doing the worst so far) and one Anubias, which doesn't exactly look beautiful and hasn't grown, but is at least in tact and not falling apart on me like the wisteria. I will confess, I didn't research the wisteria very carefully in terms of care requirements as that was also given to me by a friend. But as far as I understood it it's a pretty hardy plant? Am I mistaken? Sorry that was such a rambling explanation, I'm pretty exhausted but I wanted to go ahead and post this! If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it. I can also add pictures tomorrow when I have a little more time/energy. Thank you!

Hey! Sorry it took me so long to see this, but it sounds like the LED is your problem. Not all lights are created equal and not all lights are designed to grow plants. I haven't personally experimented with LEDs for plant growth, so I use fluorescent tube fixtures. With an 18" T8 6500k bulb over a 10 gallon I was able to grow plenty of plants. I would recommend switching to a fluorescent hood and light fixture, many pet stores sell them. You should also be able to find plant bulbs there, too. They should be about 6500 kelvins. This should provide what you need for your plants!
