Ah boo. So in the past week I noticed that my 5gal/20l aquarium has been having slightly hazy/cloudy water. It's not affecting inhabitants, but it sure does bother me.
Tank volume: 5gal/20l (running for 5-6 months) Stocking: 1 rather elderly betta, 30+ colony of cherry shrimp, heavily planted Weekly water change: 1 x 30-40% water change, done on 27th Sept. pH/NH3/NO2/NO3 as of 30th Sept 2015: 6.4/0/0/<5 or 0
I'm kind of convinced that it's the Shrimp Snow I've been feeding my shrimp. It doesn't foul the water parameters according to product information and my test results. They go bonkers for the stuff, I'm not going to take it away from them for the sake of appearances. I'm considering getting something to put in the filter to "polish" the water clarity at this rate.
Any thoughts, actions or products I should consider first?

What exactly is Shrimp Snow? (I've only used gel foods for my shrimps.) Is it really powdery? Because unless you did a super heavy clean on the filter lately, it sounds like the food might be the culprit. I've never used a clarifier, but it sounds like that might be your best option. Or changing foods.
