awionline.org/action-ealerts/orcas-need-ocean-not-bigger-boxThis is very time sensitive and very important to the anti-cetacean captivity cause!! The Blue World Project is basically another, bigger concrete box. It will NOT help captive orcas; more orcas will simply be bred to fill this empty space. I hope it's ok I posted this on this forum

This post is alright, yep!
I've read a lot on captive Orcas and it is absolutely disgusting how they are treated/raised/caught. I really hope something can and will be done about it all. They seem like such intelligent, curious animals that deserve better. ):

Whales are one of those animals that simply cannot be kept in captivity. It's so disgusting that people look past compassion towards animals to make a profit :/ .

I ardently wish SeaWorld was putting the money for BWP towards making a sea-pen to retire their Orca, and am concerned about the effect the construction is going to have on the whales. They don't seem to be doing this for the right reasons — it's not more space if you're just going to keep breeding till you're at capacity! My hunch is with people who reckon they'll just breed to cart the the whales off to new parks overseas while public opinion shifts in the US and legislation is drawn up that makes it harder and harder for their current business-model to continue.

It's disgusting and horrible that this is what they want to do, though not surprising. Orcas are nothing but swimming dollar signs to them, and this is an attempt to win back the business they lost due to Blackfish and such. I really hope we can make a difference with these letters.

Hold on a sec, did they even get permission from their local government to build that concrete tank? I once read somewhere that they presented the project while getting no permission to actually build it at all?
