Well I told myself I wouldn't post an intro today since I'm supposed to be studying, but procrastination has won again. My tumblr username is lightchasing, but you can find me as moonafleet on most other sites like dA and FR. I'm a second year veterinary student here in the grand state of Florida, but I also do a lot of art on the side. c: Feel free to check out my website for some examples. I plan to be a reptile/small exotics veterinarian, possibly with some specialization in parasitology or integrative medicine. Who knows! My plans change by the month it seems, haha. I share my life with several animals, both small and large. Captain is my 3 year old rescue greyhound, and my constant companion. I also have two snakes: Finn, a cantankerous Arizona Mountain kingsnake and Barnaby, a young and very sweet Hypo boa constrictor. Looking to add a Russian rat snake to the mix if I can ever find one for sale! More recently I've set up a 10 gallon planted tank with a lovely betta, Stravinsky. And last but far from least, I have a 22 year old Morgan horse named Frosty. Sadly he is back home with my parents, as I don't have much time for riding while continuing my studies. Looking forward to seeing how these forums go! I'm excited to contribute more when I don't have three exams in the next week.

I wanted to be a vet of some kind as a kid, but I don't think I'd be able to handle it now. But it's awesome you want to be a reptile/small exotics vet. I love Boas! Any kind of boa, I just love them all xD Russian rat snakes are awesome, though I don't have one nor have I ever seen one in person. But I love the colors. I'm hoping to find some CB Giant African Black Millipedes, but that's either going to be impossible or just really hard. You can't import them from Africa anymore and they aren't very common in the US because they are "hard to breed". But we'll see. I'm excited for these forums as well! I have high hopes for it 8)

Although the possibility of specializing in something and doing more research/lab work is definitely a thing I've considered recently. Haha, I love boas too! Barnaby is a real joy. Still fairly small, maybe 2 1/2 or 3 feet by now. I got him for free from a friend who was down-sizing her collection, and I couldn't be happier. I think someday it'd be nice to have more boas, but for now he's all I want. c: Mostly because of enclosure sizes, lol. I actually haven't seen one in person either! I'm going based on what I've heard from others who do own them, primarily. I think they're really charming snakes, and personality means a lot to me after my first snake (Finn) is such a jerk haha. Millipedes are very interesting! I never really got into inverts, but I certainly don't mind seeing other people's collections.

Middle of the West Coast. (Around Manatee/Bradenton area, don't wanna be too specific xD) Working in a lab would probably be really cool! You wouldn't necessarily have to handle possible sick or injured animals but would still help out a lot. Aha yea boas are awesome! I really love Kenyan sand boas as well, such cute little snoots. But I'd love to have a Boa Constrictor of some kind once I have space for one. They've always been one of my top favorites when it comes to reptiles. Personality is awesome in snakes, some are so chill and some are so crazy. Even one species can have such diverse personalities. My Sumatran Short tails are very different from each other. The female is very relaxed while the male can be a bit feisty at times. He's fine once he's out and had a moment to chill but xD Millipedes are awesome in my opinion! They're very very low maintenance once you set up their enclosure. You can pretty much let them go on their own for months if you give them the proper setup initially. I just mist my millipedes enclosure once a day really well and that's basically all I have to do. (If you want you can view some pictures I have of them here on my tumblr blog)
