First and foremost, if you are a new member, welcome to Animalias! We aim to have the friendliest community that we can provide, but to do so, rules must be enforced. Although they may seem strict at points, there is a valid reason for each.
These rules are in play throughout the entire website, and breaking them will result in consequences.
Rules
- Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: Transphobia, Homophobia, Ableism, Racism, and Sexism.
Discrimination of any kind will result in a permanent ban.
- Threads must be on the topic of the board that they are under. Topics put in the wrong place will be moved.
If you intentionally keep posting topics in the wrong board, you will receive a verbal warning. If you still continue to post topics in the wrong forum, you will receive a temporary ban. If you still continue after your temporary ban is up, you will be banned permanently from the site.
- Please respect others. Although their husbandry may be incorrect, there is no need to attack anyone. Moderators will intervene if an argument gets out of hand. If someone has a different view on a social issue than you, please keep that off of this website.
Harassment of any kind will result in either a temporary ban or a permanent ban, depending on the severity of the harassment.
- Keep swearing to a minimum. Hell and Damn are O.K -- anything beyond will be pointed out, edited, and you will be warned.
Your first offense of swearing will result in a verbal warning. If you continue you will recent either a temporary or permanent ban, depending on how you are acting.
- Unless it is under classifieds or commissions, there are to be no sales posts.
If you post sales in the wrong board, you will be notified and the topic moved to the proper board. If you intentionally keep posting sales in the wrong boards, you will receive a verbal warning. If you continue, temporary ban. If you persist after your temporary ban, you will be banned permanently.
- Signature images can be no larger than 300(height)x500(width)! We don't want the signatures to clog up the forums.
Signatures that are larger than 300x500 will be removed and you will receive a verbal warning. If you persist, you will be temporarily banned and permanently banned if you persist after your temporary ban.
- Do not make multiple accounts. Stick to the one you have. You will be told to pick which account you would like to keep, and any extras will be banned.
If you continue to make multiple accounts, you will first receive a temporary ban, and after that permanent if you persist.
-Please don't double post. The exception the this rule is if it adds more valid, reasonable information to the topic. Otherwise, take turns.
If you continue to double post, you will be verbally warned. After that, you will receive a temporary ban and if you persist, permanent.
- Do not go into other boards and threaten other people's pets. If you don't like a certain animal, stay away from that board.
If you are caught threatening other people's pets or being rude towards people's pets, this will result in a permanent ban.
- Do not discuss your punishments on the site. If you receive a ban or warning of any kind, you are not allowed to discuss it on the boards. If you believe you received unfair punishment, bring it up with a staff member. (Be sure to include any evidence if possible).
If you are caught discussing your bans or verbal warnings with other users, (whether this be via PMs or posting) you will be verbally warned. If you persist you will be temporarily banned OR permanently banned depending on whether you have been punished for this before or not.
- No call out posts of any kind. If you have an issue with another member, be civil about it. If you have an issue with a staff member, bring it up with them or another staff member. But always be civil about it.
Your first call out post will result in a temporary ban. If you persist, you will be permanently banned.
- Back-seat Moderating: We appreciate you wanting to help out the site, but our mods have been hired for a reason - they are good with handling people and are in direct contact with our admins. If you see something you believe to be against the rules, report it!
If you are caught back-seat moderating, you will receive a verbal warning. If you persist, you will receive a temporary ban and then permanent.
- Illegal Content: Any illegal content found in your post(s), profile or signature will be removed. Illegal content consists of (but may not be limited to) torrents, self-incriminating drug use, or underaged drinking.
Depending on the severity of what you post, you will receive either a verbal warning or a temporary ban. Torrents will result in a permanent ban. Drug talk and underaged drinking will result in a verbal warning followed by a temporary then permanent ban if you persist.
- This forum is a primarily English-speaking forum, so we politely ask that you use only English in the general boards.
- Impersonating Staff Members: Impersonating staff may include claiming you are a staff member, requesting passwords from other members (whether this be through a Private Message or posting), phising or other attempts to convince other users you are a member of the staff.
Depending on the extent you are impersonating a staff member, you will receive either a verbal warning or a permanent ban. If you are claiming you are staff, you will first be warned then banned if you persist. If you are requesting passwords or other more severe attempts are convincing people you are staff, you will be permanently banned.
- Account Sharing: You may share accounts but only if all parties involved are in agreement. We cannot make decisions for you, but we recommend you make an separate account for just you.
Please be aware that sharing password(s) compromises your account security, and we cannot be held accountable if your account ends up being stolen because you shared your password.
- Ban Evasion: If you have a banned account on the site (whether this be temporary or permanent) you are not allowed to create another account to access the site while banned. If you create an additional account while banned, any and all accounts you have will be banned permanently from the site.
If you are caught trying to evade your ban, this will result in a permanent ban of any and all accounts you have.
- Necromancy: Do not revive old topics. Topics 4 months or older may not be revived. You may create a new topic if the one you want to post in is 4 months or older.
The first time you necro a old topic will result in a verbal warning. If you persist, you will receive a temporary ban followed by a permanent ban if you continue.
*Please note that depending on the severity of your offense, you may be permanently banned without any warning. If you are permanently banned from the site, you are no longer welcome back on the site. If you believe you have received unfair punishment, please notify a staff member. You may be expected to provide proof as to why you believe you received unfair punishment.
