So a few months ago amazon messed up + i got TWO 10 gallon tanks rather than just one but now that I have it I'm gonna set it up anyways.
My current ideas are cories, guppies, or shrimp. since my other 10gal will be going to a lonesome betta, i kind of want a community tank for this one.

I don't know man, I've always been a huge fan of Red Cherry Shrimp. Like, I'd love just a whole entire colony of them in a tank and that's it. That's just me though. A nice, planted 10gal.
Guppies are pretty cute too, even though the only experience I've had with them is my boyfriend's grandma's guppies having a loooot of children. ^^;

I think shrimp would be a great idea, I had a 5gal with shrimp in it, and they are such funny little creatures. I loved watching them move about!

Do you know what your water parameters are like? That will make deciding on a fish species much easier. Some fish like livebearers need hard water and some like certain species of nanofish need soft water. It's all about where they come from in the wild.
That said, if you have hardwater, I'd go for some small crayfish like CPO's or guppies (males only or else they breed like rabbits). For soft water, oh man the possibilities! Boraras are some gorgeous little guys!
